Essential Functions

• Structural Designer will work alongside more experienced engineers and designers to perform 2D drafting and 3D modeling tasks.
• Prepare and check 2D or 3D structural design/shop drawing in AutoCAD. Prepare and check cutting list. Prepare and check MTO.
• Checks drawings for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standard drafting practices and company standards
• Prepare structural calculation reports for steel structures and Aluminum and glazing structures using software and manually if required.
• Performs additional responsibilities as directed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in structural steel and metal works design and fabrication.
• Strong communication skills
• 2+ years of experience in 3D CAD and SAP is required, experience with Tekla preferred.
• General understanding of fabrication and construction

Skills

• The Structural Designer must be fluent in 3D modeling. Candidates with other 3D modeling software capabilities will be considered, however the Structural Designer must be a self-starter, willing and highly motivated to learn new software quickly in a production oriented environment.
• The Structural Designer must be fluent in AutoCAD;
• The Structural Designer must have good listening, writing and communication skills.
• The Structural Designer must be proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Mail.
