JOB PURPOSE:
To execute the procurement process for all purchasing activities in order to ensure that the procurement requirements of all units are met in line with procurement policies and procedures, at the highest internal customer service standards possible and in the most cost efficient manner.


Description:

* Manage the procurement process to ensure provision of the required procurement support to all units at CPG as per the agreed service level agreements.
* Review procurement requirements and current practices in order to devise and implement cost reduction measures through innovative approaches.
* Assist in the implementation of a supplier management strategy that achieves required quality, delivery, service, and commercial terms from suppliers to rationalize the supplier base and improve the efficiency of the supply chain where possible.
* Contribute to the preparation, processing and compilation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to invite suppliers to submit proposals in line with internal customer requirements.
* Assist and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure exchange of all relevant information so that purchases progress in line with timelines and requirements.
* Review bids from Tenders and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and jointly, with end user departments, conduct analysis and make initial recommendations for appropriate spend level as applicable.
* Contribute to supplier negotiations based on complexity of the transaction to ensure optimum price, delivery and terms.
* Assist in the search and evaluation of the most suitable and cost effective vendors and handle the development of the approved vendors/ suppliers list for all areas.
* Provide analytical support through the analysis of data relating to market trends, vendor and supply management, and procurement status and activities.
* Rationalize the supplier database and stay updated with the suppliers in the market, to ensure selection of the most appropriate and suitable suppliers and contractors for CPG.
* Ensure the accurate implementation of the appropriate policies and practices, in order to support the realization of CPG’s strategic objectives and comply with leading best practices and standards, as well as with local legislation and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
