Job Summary
Responsible for performance of blood specimen’s collection and a variety of technical tasks, laboratory examination of specimens and body fluids according to SOP’s recommended way.

Job Responsibilities

1. Performs a variety of routine and complex blood drawing procedures, shows cooperation with patients allays any fears and provide all necessary instructions.
2. Proper specimen handling according to quality management program of the unit.
3. Perform tests that are authorized by the unit head according to the degree of individual’s education, training, experience & technical abilities.
4. Follow the laboratory’s Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) for the different specimen handling, transportation, processing and reporting.
5. Run Quality controls for the different tests and prompt trouble shooting for Q.C results out of limit according to the unit Quality Control policy & in accordance with the CAP requirements “if applicable”.
6. Assess the accuracy and validity of obtained test results
7. Troubleshoot instruments and resolves technical problems whenever possible, documents corrective action, and reports problems to the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
Basic science background from a health care institute (DMLT) or BSc-Degree in Medical laboratory technology.
-2 year experience in a medical laboratory field

Licenses
Lab technician certified by a nationally recognized board/agency
Licensed by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) or equivalent in other countries.
