Position: Tack welding

English Language: Intermediate level
Main Responsibilities: • Read and understand blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Align and fit metal components before welding
• Perform tack welds using MIG, TIG, or Stick welding methods
• Check measurements, angles, and positioning
• Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning and grinding
• Use clamps, jigs, and measuring tools
• Assist full welders during fabrication and assembly
• Follow welding safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Inspect tack weld quality and stability
• Maintain welding equipment and work area
Work Experience: • 1–3 years in welding or metal fabrication (varies by employer)
• Experience using welding machines and hand tools
Education • High school diploma or technical/vocational training preferred
• Welding certification is a plus
Job Description:
A Tack Welder is responsible for temporarily joining metal parts using small welds (tack welds) to hold components in correct alignment before final welding and fabrication. They work closely with fabricators, fitters, and certified welders in manufacturing, construction, shipbuilding, pipelines, and metal fabrication shops.
