JOB DESCRIPTION FOR Structural Design Engineer in the field of Overhead Transmission Lines (OHTL) Successful candidates shall be capable of analyzing and designing transmission structures to ensure their compliance with the mechanical and electrical requirements of the Project Specifications / industry standards. Job Title: Structural Design Engineer – Overhead Transmission Lines (OHTL) Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and prepare Load Calculations for different loading conditions affecting transmission structures as per Applicable Local / International Standards (IEC, ASCE...etc.).
• Modeling, Design, analyzing & Preparing of Technical Submittal of transmission structures for OHTL projects using PLS-TOWER, AutoCAD & MS Office.
• Knowledge of 3D Modeling Software such as TEKLA Structure / BOCAD Software shall be considered as an asset.
• Review shop drawings to Ensure all designs meet project and local specifications and provide feedback to colleagues.
• Provide engineering support during Design, Fabrication & construction Stages.
• Optimize material selection for cost-effectiveness and durability.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering from a renowned Institute.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in transmission line design and structural analysis.
• Proficiency in structural engineering software (PLS-Tower, AutoCAD, MS Office etc.).
• Strong understanding of steel materials / Standards used in transmission structures.
• Highly collaborative spirit and experience working in a team with Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Fluency in English Language
